Planning For My Music Video

After finishing the research, we have decided the best theme for our music video is a pop song theme. We decided that plan A is to do the pop song Party in the USA. This was sung by Miley Cyrus when she was younger, and it was in 2009. For now, we have a long list of props we plan to use. We plan to start with a scene at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. There we will do a scene where we pick up Sean from the airport. We will be using a car and a suitcase as our props. When he exits the airport Julie will put his bag in the trunk and then we will do a group hug welcoming him as if we have not seen him in a long time. When Julie puts the bag in the trunk, we will show that we have a picnic basket for lunch in the trunk. Then while driving back from the airport we will have a scene of the three of us partying in the car, jamming out to some music. We will drive to the beach and have lunch from the picnic basket that was seen at the start of the video. We will also grab stuff out of a cooler to show it is hot outside. After we eat lunch, we are going to use a jump cut to swap from us in normal clothes to us in swimsuits. After we change into our swimsuits we will run into the ocean and swim. After we swim, we will drive Sean back to the airport to show him going back out of town. Just like in the first scene, we will give him a hug goodbye and take the suitcase out of the trunk.

Here is a breakdown of CLAMPS:

  • Costumes- Ponytail, sunglasses, hatssorority girl outfit, fraternity guy outfit, swimsuit, and travel outfit
  • Lighting- Morning light, sunlight at noon, and sundown lighting.
  • Actions- Driving, swimming, eating, dancing, and partying.
  • Makeup- N/A
  • Props- Suitcase, drinks, car, speaker, towel, ball, and cooler.
  • Setting- Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport and the beach.

The schedule we are planning to follow to finish this project on time goes like this:

  • 11/19 - Storyboard Blog Due
  • 11/20-11/28 - Filming
  • 11/29-12/10 - Production Blogs Due
  • 12/13 - Project Due
  • 12/17 - CCR/Midterm Due

Backup Plan:

We have a few backup plans as a group in case something happens. We have multiple days available for filming in case the weather or lighting is not good for filming outside at the beach. Another backup plan we came up with is to go to the FLL Airport in case the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport is too busy or not busy enough for what we want to show. Another big backup plan we have come up with is to swap to Christmas music if we need to because the pop song isn’t working or it is supposed to rain every day of filming. The last backup plan we came up with is to go to the Fort Lauderdale beach in the case that the beach we want to go to is having issues.
