Finished Filming

Image
My group finished filming last weekend. Just look in the first half, Julie filmed and Addison acted doing Julie's role. We filmed the shots that involved the car moving. We also did all the shots from the street. These shots were incredibly hard to pull off. This is because of how we wanted them to look in the original vision. We wanted it to cut back and forth from Addison hitting him back to her reactions. Sadly we could not do this exactly, but we did get very close. First off, Addison had to drive the car, and she is not the best driver. This meant that while filming we all had to be extremely attentive and careful. Someone was outside the car at all times making sure we were safe. The rest of us were watching out the windows for incoming dangers. Finally, Addison kept her foot next to the break the whole time while driving very slowly. We filmed on a side street where almost no one else was minimizing our risk of any accidents. She also drove straight very slowly to make sure

We Are Filming

Image
This past week was spring break. Because of this, our group was finally able to film. This also lets us follow our schedule since we planned to film over the break. But as we were getting started with the filming process and gathering our props we noticed a problem. We had no one to film when everyone was on camera. To solve this problem we had to contact one of our friends. This friend was Addison and she took over and did all of Juliana's roles. This is because Julie has way more experience filming than everyone else in the group. Filming was really fun and we finished right on schedule. I acted in almost every single scene and had quite a lot of lines. This was a new experience for me because I usually volunteer for side roles or roles outside of the filming. Some of the new things I got to experience was having to memorize a lot more lines than normally. I also had to figure out where to stand and be so everyone was visible. I played Beckett. this character was scared a lot an

Finalized Schedule

In the last blog, I explained the troubles we were having finding a day everyone is free. The first thing we did was we listed all the days we were busy. To do this we pulled up a calendar and each put an x on a square if we couldn't film that day. We put an o on the calendar when we were able to do that day as long as we work around something one of us has going on. After putting in the next few days one or 2 days immediately jumped out as good days to film on. First this upcoming Sunday the only thing any of us have going on is Sean's soccer game at night. This would give us several hours to film the whole thing as long as we start early in the morning. The other day we saw was Monday the 26th. Sean and I were free that day and Julie said she could probably work around the thing she was going to do. That means if we can't finish Sunday then hopefully, we can get the rest done on that Monday. Now we had to work out what time we would film at. Since we wanted to do Sunday w

Scheduling Conflicts

Image
Now that my group has figured out our music choices it is time to film. We started trying to work out an exact day to work on. This is when problems emerged for me and my groupmates. It turns out our schedules were conflicting. Many of the days I was free Julie was busy. When Julie was free Sean was busy. When Sean was free I was busy. The main problems were my schedule and Julie's. As we were working out the days to film my mom texts me. All of a sudden I am now going out of town for spring break. This meant most of our free days to film I would not be here to film. I leave the Tuesday of spring break and only get back Sunday before school is back. This does not give us a lot of time to film. Julie's problem was her distance from us. While I and Sean lived near each other Julie was a lot further away. This meant she could only film on weekends when her parents could drive her. This is because her dad has to go to work on weekdays so she has no ride. Sean had a problem with fil

Getting Permission For My Music

Image
Today I received a response from the person I emailed earlier this week. Luckily, they said yes. They said it was ok to use their music. They also said I could credit them however I wanted. To be exact they said, "Awesome! Go ahead and use it. You can credit me however you'd like. Hope it comes out great -Trickolas". This means I have 3 choices for how I will credit them. I can use their SoundCloud name where I got the email. I can use the YouTube name which I used to find the music. The last way I can credit them is to use their actual name from the emails. Their name was Nick Mervis. I will likely credit their real name that way it matches the rest of the credits which uses people's real names. I am glad the person responded this quickly. This is because many of my groupmates have not gotten a response yet. Once they get responses we will get to the next part of our project. They have also emailed other music artists trying to get responses. Next, we will start fil

Picking Out Music

Image
I spent today searching around on music and video sites like Spotify, SoundCloud, and YouTube. I was searching for some eerie/horror music to put at the end of the opening. This song may be used for more than the ending scene but that will be its main purpose. At first, I checked Spotify where I found nothing I thought would sound good in that spot. Then I checked YouTube where I found a pretty great song. This song is titled  " Very Creepy Ending Song w/ Bells (Scary Music / Movie Soundtrack)". After finding this song I still checked SoundCloud just to see if there was anything better there. I ended up sticking with this song after everything was said and done. Now that I have my song I had to ask the creator for permission. To do this I first went to their Youtube account that you could access from the video. Their YouTube account was called Trickolas. After finding their account I checked all the separate tabs that there was to search through. I ended on the "ABOUT&q

Our Storyboard Pages

Page 1: Page 1 goes over scene 1 and scene 2 of our opening scene. It includes the title cards for the studio, production company, and 2/4 actors. In scene one we see the outside of the forest. In scene 2 the 3 characters finish packing. In scene 3 the characters are driving to the park before almost hitting someone, and the start of scene 4 shows the characters pulling into the park. An actor title card shows here, and the actual title title card is also included.   Page 3: We see scenes 5, 6, and one square of 7 on page 3. Scene 5 shows the 3 unpacking the car and the old man watching. Scene 6 shows the 3 characters heading to the entrance of the forest, and the start of scene 7 sees us enter the forest. 2 title cards play, one being the last actor card and the other giving credit for the music.   Page 4: Scenes 7 a
