Filming Day 1: Beckett's House
Today my group decided to begin the process of filming. Today was my first day of filming as an A-level student. To start filming my group did all the scenes at my house. The majority of the scenes were at my house. This means it took a while to finish all the filming. The first scene I did was in my room. I shot a bird's eye view of me and Sean on my bed. To do this I had to find a way to attach the phone to the ceiling. As mentioned in the last blog I attached it to my ceiling lights. This gave my film an awesome angle that makes the film more unique. A couple of the scenes my group needed were of me and Sean on a phone call. In order to do this Sean and I had to be in separate places. Sean went into my mom's room and closed the door. I called him from my room. This helped make sure all the talking would be synced up. It also let my group avoid having to dub over any slightly off parts of the conversation. The last type of scene I needed was a couple of outdoor scenes. My group went outside to find the first obstacle. This obstacle was avoiding random cars and objects being in the frame. This was easily resolved by filming in an empty driveway or right in front of my house. Another issue was the lighting. The sun started setting so I had to work quickly and find areas where the sun wasn't blinding the camera. Eventually, I got all the scenes at my house done and was able to head home.
